Happy Watoto gives orphans and children from problem families in the Arumeru District (Tanzania) a future perspective by:
- providing a caring home when there is no basic care or 'safe' place at home,
- offering an English-language educational program from kindergarten to vocational training,
- and finally guiding them to a paid job or setting up their own business.
Happy Watoto offers children aged 3 to approximately 18 years an educational path and thus helps the children on their way to an independent existence. There is no selection at the gate, so every disadvantaged child, gifted or less gifted, is welcome. From a young age, the children become familiar with English. Besides the mandatory school curriculum, they get every opportunity to develop themselves. In this process, we closely and individually guide the children. Moreover, together with the children, we map out a learning path that fits their interests and capacities. We do this from the conviction that when these children can develop their talents, their future prospects improve significantly. By helping these children, we help Tanzania in its further development.
